An Maw
Inspired by the workers of the Clay Country, with the influence from poems and the life of Jack Clemo, both the photographer and the model were born and raised in Cornwall and felt an immediate connection to the poet and his words, exploring what life was like as a worker of the clay works or more so a child during these times, ‘An Maw’ was created. Entitled ‘An Maw’ the phrase traslates from the Cornish language to ‘The boy ’. Re-enacting the boys life being submerged within the white hills with the metaphors of his youth as well as livelyhood being dumped from society into this repetitive walk.
